About Us

Faith Baptist Church is an independent Baptist church serving the greater Belleville area. Since its founding in 1982 it has stood as a pillar of truth in the local community. Over the last 30 years, Faith Baptist Church has diligently and uncompromisingly upheld the tenants of the faith. Despite the deprivation of mankind and in spite of the changes of culture, Faith Baptist Church will continue to stand steadfast in the old paths; a stance that places Faith Baptist, "at the Heart of Belleville."

Faith Baptist Is...

Independent

As an independent Baptist church, we are not affiliated with any particular Baptist denomination or ruling body. Because of this we can support our own missionaries, select our own leaders, and support institutions that believe as we believe. There are currently more than 10,000 independent Baptist churches in America and thousands more throughout the world.

Fundamental

There are fundamentals to every aspect of life; the Christian life is no different. Just as a baseball manager or a football coach may be fond of saying, "We need to focus on the fundamentals," our church places a heavy emphasis on the fundamentals of sound Christian doctrine.

Local

The template the Bible gives us of the New Testament church is that of a local entity, not a global church. In fact, the Bible makes it clear that no single church is to have dominion over another but all are to have equal footing with each other. In short, our church answers to the headship of Jesus Christ rather than a denominational body.

Bible Believing

We believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments and that they compose the entire Word of God. The Scriptures are inerrant, infallible, and God-breathed; and therefore, are the final authority for faith and life. We simply believe that God is powerful enough to say what He means, mean what He says, and preserve it until the end of time.

KJV Only

Our church stands firmly on the King James Version of the Holy Bible as the appropriate translation for English speakers.
